Like the acai berry before it, resveratrol is becoming one of the hottest health and fitness supplements on the market. Many people have seen resveratrol featured on news programs or TV talk shows and are wondering what this miracle supplement is all about. There is a lot of research being done on resveratrol to verify its effectiveness which makes it a lot better than most over-hyped supplements.
You can find resveratrol in some common foods and drinks that many people already consume. For example, if you like to have a glass of red wine with dinner, you are getting some. You can also get a dose by eating peanuts or red grapes. A cup of red grapes or peanuts has about the same amount of resveratrol as a glass of red wine. While this is good and these foods may provide other health benefits, you will need a lot more to match the levels being used in clinical trials. You would have to drink hundreds of bottles a day to get the amount of resveratrol being tested in clinical trials.
Resveratrol supplements have been created that are up to 500 times stronger than what you can find in any food supplement. Laboratory tests are using this level of resveratrol. You have more than one option when you decide to try resveratrol supplements. You can buy a supplement that just has resveratrol or you can get a supplement that combines resveratrol with other ingredients like acai berry to create a high antioxidant health supplement. There are free trial offers available sometimes so you can get resveratrol for the price of shipping and handling. Just make sure you look at the terms of the trial so you can cancel the anti aging pills it if you don’t want future charges.
You are probably reading this to find out what benefits resveratrol may provide you with so lets talk about some of the studies on resveratrol. There are multiple reports published on reputable sites like WebMD and Wikipedia that describe some of the benefits seen in the lab. One report details how resveratrol prevents estrogen from creating breast cancer cells. Another report details how lab rats taking resveratrol supplements live longer and healthier lives. There are a lot more promising tests, but at this point nothing has been approved by the FDA. I don’t want to belabor that point, but you need to know that nothing has been proven yet. With that said, there is reason to believe that taking resveratrol supplement could have a positive effect on your health.
